Stories that go beyond the pages of a book. Wise Magazine is Rio Books & Publishing’s monthly bilingual publication, with 10,000 printed copies distributed across the United Kingdom and Portugal, offering a distinctive editorial perspective on culture and literature.
Rio Books & Publishing was born from a simple belief: every story deserves to be told, and every story deserves to be read across the world.
Founded in London in 2015 by Sandro Vitta, a British-Brazilian writer, journalist and publisher, we are now one of the only international publishing houses to publish Portuguese-speaking authors in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Our distribution network reaches 96 countries, across 5 continents, and more than 44,500 physical and digital bookshops around the world.
We support each author at every stage of their journey. From the first idea to the final page. From publication to sales. From consultancy to literary representation. In more than 10 years, we have published over 250 authors, sold rights to Netflix and Warner Bros., launched Wise Magazine, and created an exclusive methodology that takes a manuscript from draft to published book in up to 30 days.
And we do all of this with one commitment we never compromise on: 100% of royalties go to the author. Always. Because the person who wrote the story deserves to keep ownership of it.
